The Golden State Warriors intend to re-sign forward David West, the team said Saturday.

League sources told ESPN the deal is for one year. West's agent, Jeff Austin, told The Associated Press that West would likely receive the veteran's minimum $2.3 million, though final details were still being completed.

The veteran West was rewarded for taking less money last season ($1.6 million) with Golden State by winning the first NBA title of his 14-year career in June.

He averaged about 12 minutes in 68 games in 2016-17, posting 4.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

West, who turns 37 in August, had his best years with New Orleans, including All-Star nods in 2007-08 and 2008-09. He holds career averages of 14.1 points and 6.6 rebounds.
