Brandon Lloyd retires from NFL after 11 seasons for six teams

Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd on Thursday announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.



The 34-year-old Lloyd, who played last season for the San Francisco 49ers, retires with399 catches for5,989 and 36 touchdown receptions.



"I am so thankful for the years I spent in the NFL," Lloyd said in a statement. "I do not have one regret, and I am blessed to leave the game in such a healthy and happy place. I will do all I can to positively represent the league and its players for the rest of my life."



He led the NFL in receiving yards in 2010 with the Denver Broncos when he had1,448 yards and earned the only Pro Bowl honors of his career.



Lloyd played in142 games with six different teams (49ers, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Broncos, St. Louis Ramsand New England Patriots). He was a fourth-round pick by San Francisco in the 2003 draft.
