LOS ANGELES -- With Clayton Kershaw's scheduled start pushed back one day, Zack Greinke took the mound Friday night and won his fifth straight decision, lifting the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in the opening game of the Freeway Series.

Kershaw, who was scratched because of soreness in his right hip, will instead pitch Saturday, the team announced.

Kershaw tested the injury in the bullpen and then stretched on the field before the team made the announcement. He last pitched July 23 against the New York Mets, allowing three hits in nine innings. Kershaw is currently riding a 29-inning scoreless streak.

"We knew he was feeling good, but we wanted to make sure he got the extra day, keep Zack on turn, and he'll go tomorrow," manager Don Mattingly said. "He feels good. He's not feeling anything. He's going tomorrow."

Kershaw is 8-6 with a 2.51 ERA this season.

Greinke, who earlier this season had a 45 2/3-inning scoreless streak, pitched eight innings Friday and allowed two runs on five hits, striking out eight.

The Dodgers also put third baseman Justin Turner on the 15-day disabled list, one of four roster moves to accommodate the four pitchers the Dodgers got before the trade deadline.

Turner has an infection in his right thigh. He will be inactive for the next week to allow the infection to heal, but Mattingly said the team is hopeful he won't be out longer than the 15 days.

"He can't do anything right now. That's part of the issue. He can't do anything for X amount of days until this thing closes up," Mattingly said. "Once that happens, we can move forward."

With the arrival and activation of pitchers Alex Wood, Jim Johnson and Luis Avilan, the Dodgers optioned pitchers Mike Bolsinger and Zach Lee to Triple-A Oklahoma City. They will need to make another roster move when Mat Latos, delayed by bad weather in Miami, arrives.

Latos, acquired from the Miami Marlins, will make his Dodgers debut Sunday. Wood, who came from the Atlanta Braves, will pitch Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Wood said he was looking forward to getting to know Kershaw and Greinke and picking their brains about pitching.

"They've obviously got it figured out a little bit," Wood said. "It's almost like a fresh start back in my first big league camp when I came up with the Braves."

The team also traded Michael Morse and cash to the Pittsburgh Pirates for outfielder Jose Tabata. Morse had already been designated for assignment. Tabata had been outrighted to Triple-A by the Pirates and will report to the Dodgers' Triple-A club in Oklahoma City.
