Utah Jazz forward Gordon Haywardsuffered a fractured fourth finger on his left hand during practice Friday, the team said in a news release.
The Jazz did not disclose a time frame for Hayward's recovery or return. But according to league sources who spoke with ESPN, he was in the process of considering treatment options.
"Hayward will undergo additional evaluation by the Jazz medical staff and further updates will be provided when appropriate," the team's statement said.
Sources earlier told ESPN that Hayward had suffered a dislocated finger and was out indefinitely.
Hayward, 26, averaged 19.7 points in 80 starts for the Jazz last season. He has been their leading scorer the past three seasons.
The injury was first reported Friday via Twitter by veteran NBA reporter Chris Haynes.
