Josh Hamilton to get MRI on sore knee

MINNEAPOLIS -- Texas Rangers left fielder Josh Hamilton still has soreness in his left knee.

Hamilton was out of the lineup Thursday at Minnesota, for the second straight game. He was scratched Wednesday after batting practice because of the injury, which has prompted the Rangers to order an MRI test Friday on the 34-year-old.

Before the game against the Twins, Hamilton called his season "tremendously frustrating" because of a number of lower-body problems. General manager Jon Daniels said the Rangers don't believe Hamilton has a "major" issue.

Since being reacquired by the Rangers this year from the Los Angeles Angels, the five-time All-Star and 2010 American League MVP award winner is batting .252 in 135 at-bats with a career-low .713 on-base-plus-slugging percentage.
