Kevin Durant to travel with Warriors for first time since spraining MCL

OAKLAND, Calif. --Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will accompany the team on its upcoming trip to Oklahoma City and Dallas, marking his first travel since he suffered a left knee MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise on Feb. 28.

The Warriors hit the road Sunday for a back-to-back that begins Monday in Oklahoma City and concludes Tuesday in Dallas.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Saturday that he isn't sure if Durant will sit on the bench for either game, noting that the All-Star has been behind closed doors getting treatment during the home games he has attended since he suffered the injuries.

"I've watched him today shooting jump shots," Kerr said before the Warriors' 117-92 win against Milwaukee on Saturday night. "I've watched him go from sitting in a chair shooting to standstill shooting and now jump-shooting, so he's clearly making progress. It's great."

Durant told the organization that he felt he was ready to rejoin the team on the road, and his request was granted.

When he suffered the original injury, the Warriors announced that Durant would be re-evaluated in a month's time and were hopeful that he would be able to return to action before the playoffs.

Golden State is 5-5 without Durant.
