Raiders cancel final OTA, race go-karts instead

Derek Carr is known for leading his team down the field for touchdowns every Sunday during the fall, but the Oakland Raidersquarterback recently led a different type of drive off the field this week.

After Oakland head coach Jack Del Rio let the Raiders play hooky from their final OTA practice and instead brought them to a local go-kart facility, Carr showed off his prowess behind the wheel by finishing the course with the top time among his teammates.

Carr captured video proof of the race results in an Instagram post that also featured him talking trash to defensive endKhalil Mack and thanking Del Rio for the opportunity.

Mack, who finished seventh in the go-kart race -- and heard about it from Carr -- took out his frustration on a punching-bag machine at the facility that measures the force of one's jabs. It came as no surprise that the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year displayed some impressive strength with his right hook.

The Raiders, whose AFC wild-card berth last season ended a 14-year playoff drought, will open the 2017 preseason on Aug. 12 versus the Arizona Cardinals.
