Ravens, Browns, Cardinals among teams slated for '17 London games

The Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals will make their debut appearances in London next season as part of the NFL's four-game International Series slate for 2017.

The matchups, announced Tuesday by the league, will be played at Wembley Stadium and at Twickenham, a rugby stadium the NFL used for the first time this year.

The Ravens will play the Jacksonville Jaguars in either Week 3 or 4 at Wembley, and the New Orleans Saints will play the Miami Dolphinsin one of those weeks at Wembley. The Browns will play the Minnesota Vikings and the Cardinals will play the Los Angeles Rams at Twickenham in Weeks 7 or 8.

The Browns, Jaguars, Dolphins and Rams will be the home teams. Jacksonville is committed to playing one home game in London through the 2020 season. The league has never before played four games in one season in London.

"Having one of the most famous fan groups in the NFL, Cleveland's Dawg Pound, sharing Twickenham with our U.K. fans is going to be a lot of fun," NFL U.K. managing director Alistair Kirkwood said in a statement.

With the Ravens, Browns and Cardinals making their first London appearances, that brings the total to 26 different teams since the NFL started playing in the British capital in 2007. It will be the fourth game there for the Dolphins, second for the Saints and the fifth for the Jaguars, who have played annually in London since 2013.

The NFL has played 17 regular-season games in London, starting with the New York Giants beating the Dolphins 13-10 in October 2007. Fifteen of those games have drawn more than 80,000 fans to Wembley Stadium.
