It's finally happening. A woman is making her Major League Baseball debut ... Well, in a fictional television series. But hey, progress is progress.

In the trailer released for "Pitch," a TV show set to premier on Fox this fall, we get a sneak peak at a woman who plays for the San Diego Padres.

The show is produced with the MLB's cooperation, which allows the characters to don authentic team uniforms and rep a real franchise -- a privilege that many other baseball shows and movies can't boast .

"Pitch" featuresKylie Bunbury, Dan Lauria (Mr. Arnold from "The Wonder Years," anyone?) and Zack Morris ... I meanMark-Paul Gosselaar. There's no telling where "Pitch" will stack up on the all-time baseball shows and movies list. But with a noteworthy cast and plot line, there's reason to be optimistic.
