Man who died after being run over by car in central Fresno alley identified

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The man who was run over and killed in a central Fresno alley has been identified.

Police say 64-year-old Ernest Yetter was drunk and passed out Sunday afternoon near Abby and Belmont.

Moments later, a red Buick ran Yetter over while he was lying on the ground.

Officers say the car stopped at first, but the driver then took off.

Yetter died at the scene.

Officers found the car parked at a nearby church.

They say the driver of the car has been cooperative during the investigation and was not arrested.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
