MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- An iconic rocket that was stolen from a Merced amusement park earlier this month has been returned.
'Kiddieland' in Applegate Park says the item was stolen on December 11 but was notified about the theft on Friday.
The piece is made from a fuel tank from World War Two.
Kiddieland says a man saw someone with the rocket and offered to trade for it.
Once the man realized the rocket was stolen and part of the amusement park, they took it back to Kiddieland on Saturday.
Kiddieland is closed for the season as it goes through maintenance.
It will be back and open for the community in March of next year..
