Stephen Hicks
Stephen Hicks is the Sports Director for ABC30 Action News. Stephen joined the Action News Sports team in April 2018 and is thrilled to continue to call the Central Valley home.

Before moving to Fresno, Stephen was the Sports Director at KERO-TV in Bakersfield. During his three years in Kern County, he reported on big local athletes like Derek Carr, Kevin Harvick and Tyrone Wallace while also getting the chance to cover CSU Bakersfield's run to the program's first NCAA Tournament and NIT Final Four appearances taking him everywhere from Oklahoma City to Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Stephen graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University where he spent time reporting on Arizona issues from Washington, D.C. Before pursuing journalism, he played two years of college golf at Glendale Community College.

For almost a year after college, Stephen was a general assignment news reporter at KERO-TV.

When he isn't working, Stephen likes to spend his free time playing guitar, golfing, hiking, cooking and traveling to hidden gems in California.
