The car shattered the glass and broke the metal door frame down. You can see a person wearing a black hoodie and cap rush inside and use a long rope, wrapping it around the ATM.
The thief then gets back in the vehicle and pulls away making off with the machine strapped to the back of the SUV.
"Oh my God, that is incredible, that is shocking, it's scary," says Lisa Salceda.
The entire break-in happened in less than a minute. The burglar hauled away the cash as quickly as yanking out a loose tooth.
"They obviously had the right tools, and they knew what they were doing. They probably scoped it out too before," says Officer Luke Tran, Fresno Police Department.
The thief is believed to have driven off with the ATM still dangling behind the SUV. Officers tracked a messy trail all of the way into the City of Clovis.
"They located debris that was consistent with parts of the ATM eastbound of the location," says Officer Tran.
A sole 'open' sign was the only thing left from the entryway during early morning crash. Construction crews were out fixing the doorway hours later. The salon, and customers didn't let the brazen crime stop them from going about business as usual that next day.
"It's a peaceful neighborhood. It's always clean and has nice clientele that come. It's just been a great place to get my nails done. Just had them done today," says Salceda.
ATMs are commonly found inside nail salons. But Officer Tran says this one's placement made the shop an unfortunately easy target.
"If you're going to put it by a window, it's going to make it more appealing. It's going to be more visible to criminals and it's going to give them more opportunity," says Officer Tran.
This is still an active investigation as the thief has yet to be arrested, police say they could be facing a charge of felony burglary.
