Fresno police responded just before 11 pm Sunday to Fruit and Myers avenues for several Shotspotter activations.
Officers say the Shotspotter activations added up to nearly 60 rounds.
When police arrived, they found Dixon Jr. in the backyard of a home with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police added that two cars and a home were hit by gunfire, but no one else was injured.
This was the 25th homicide for the City of Fresno in 2024.
