The Fresno Police Department said a caller reported two cars shooting at each other.
"Vehicles, no description. Both shooting at each other," an emergency dispatcher said over the radio. "Unknown if anyone is injured. Last seen northbound on Marks -- still getting further. Units to respond."
Police closed the intersection to investigate, and while they did not find the cars involved, they found other evidence at the scene.
"We found the shell casings," a first responder said. "Can you guys block northbound Marks (inaudible)?"
Action News learned two gunshot victims went to Community Regional Medical Center, where one of them underwent surgery. Police say his condition is improving.
