"Our daughter, Charlotte, and our son in law, Henry, are stationed right here at NAS Lemoore," Pence said. "Like so many of you, they serve as a family."

As Karen Pence met with Navy spouses, the vice president detailed the Trump administration's foreign policy achievements, including withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal, the death of Kassim Solemani and the fight against terrorism.

"Our armed forces of the United States captured the last inch of territory controlled by ISIS, and strike fighters stationed right here at NAS Lemoore were in the fight from early on," he said.

"Stand up to Chinese aggression and trade abuses," Pence said. "Stand strong for a free and open Indo-Pacific, and put America and our freedom-loving allies first."

Before posing for pictures with the brave men and women of our navy, the vice president thanked them for their selfless courage.

"Many people wonder all their lives if they've made a difference," he said. "You'll never have that problem."

Notably in attendance was Congressman David Valadao, one of 10 Republicans that voted in favor of the impeachment of President Trump.

"I think he did a really good job," Valadao said. "He obviously loves our military. He loves our country and he was just stopping by to say hi and thank you for their service, so I'm glad he did it."

This was one of two final events for Vice President Mike Pence.

He'll head to New York to address army soldiers at Fort Drum, many of whom are just returning from Afghanistan.
