FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Anti-gay stickers on display at a high school in Riverside County are causing an uproar among students and staff.

The stickers started showing up about two weeks ago on campus and among students on social media. The school district says because of the First Amendment students have just as much the right to display the anti-gay sticker as students who display a pro-gay sticker.

But teachers say the same students who handed out the anti-gay symbol on campus also placed one on the window of the Gay-Straight Alliance Coordinator's classroom, and it is now making some students feel threatened. "When someone takes a sticker and puts it in front of the face in front of somebody else, then that bounces from the realm of free speech into harassment or bullying," teacher David Parsons said.

The district says it's still investigating and provided counseling to the students involved.
