FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds of students will start the school year with a brand new backpack thanks to a very generous 4th grader.
Zackeria Lovick was at Williams Elementary School Wednesday night for the back to school block party. The nine-year-old started his own backpack and school supply drive two years ago. He shops for and stuffs each bag himself.
This batch contained everything from folders, markers, pencils, high lighters, glue, scissors, and even a couple of lollipops.
Lovick said he does it because he wants kids in his community to know they can achieve anything.
"They said thank you. Some of the kids never had a backpack. It felt great to give them their first one."
If you would like to donate backpacks, supplies, or even money to the cause just head to Zackeria's School Supply Drive on Facebook.
