Residents filled the streets for 21st annual Mardi Gras parade

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Members of the community gathered together Sunday in Downtown Fresno to celebrate Mardi Gras a little early.

This was the 21st annual Mardi Gras parade and this year's event was cartoon themed!

The parade began in the tower district at one this afternoon.

Both kids and adults dressed in costumes and filled the streets to get in the spirit a couple days ahead of the celebration.
