Two Fresno homes under construction go up in flames

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Fire Department is investigating what they are calling a suspicious fire near Hammond and Polk on Saturday night.

Authorities say two homes that were under construction in a new development caught. One house suffered extensive damage while the other only had partial damage to its side.

Firefighters say the framework is not structurally sound, and crews will have to come back today when it is daylight to further investigate.

It's not known how the fire started at this time.
