RALEIGH -- The FBI said the man who made threats aimed at Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown is now behind bars.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office arrested Jesse Lee Kuhl Thursday.

Agents said Kuhl has sent more than a dozen emails to the police chief filled with racial slurs and death threats.

Kuhl claimed he was mistreated while working for the state.

In one email, he used a slur and wrote "I demand you resign or you deserve to die."

Kuhl scheduled for his initial appearance Friday afternoon at the federal courthouse in Fresno.
