FRESNO, Calif. -- First graders are learning how to code; Moms are using Snapchat for their businesses. ABC30 explores how students, teachers and families are taking tech to the next level. Action News anchors Tony Cabrera and Amanda Venegas host a half-hour special, "Children First: Connected Kids."

This ABC30 special includes a Tulare teacher who is teaching her first graders how to code. Find out how teachers at Cutler-Orosi Unified School District are getting better engagement through technology. Learn how Fresno Unified's e-Mentoring program works and how putting Wi-Fi on all school buses is helping kids.

You often see tots holding smartphones or tablets. Learn what parents should know before handing their toddler a tablet. Discover the local planetarium where kids can get a better view and understanding of science and space.

Children First is a year-round effort focusing on the challenges, problems and opportunities facing our youth in Central California. The program shows how the average person can make a difference in a child's life and highlights local organizations working with kids.

The Children First campaign includes half-hour programs like "Connected Kids", thirty-second public service announcements, and special stories on Action News. ABC30 thanks its partners below for putting Children First in the Central Valley.
