COLUMBUS, Ohio (KFSN) -- A man who started a fundraising campaign for potato salad as a joke made good on his promise to turn it into something bigger this weekend.
Zach Brown raised more than $55,000 after saying he wanted to make a potato salad for the first time. He set a goal on Kickstarter for $10,000, and when his efforts went viral, he promised to use the extra money to throw a party benefitting a good cause.
Hundreds of people came out to that party this weekend. Proceeds from the celebration went to the Columbus Foundation that helps feed Ohio's homeless.
The event featured live music, food trucks, beer and more than 300 pounds of potato salad.
