SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) -- Some Valley families not getting much work due to the drought received much needed assistance. The Fresno EOC drought relief food distribution was held in Sanger.
The giveaway is held once a month to help feed those impacted by the drought. Families can pick up fruit, vegetables, meat, bread and beans.
Officials say numbers are steady, but they say the drought is impacting many communities. "Mendota is our largest list of names. Huron, San Joaquin, all that has been affected tremendously," said Leah Struck with the Fresno EOC.
Nine communities have food distribution days. Officials say anywhere from 500 to 900 names are on the list.
The next giveaway is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Huron. Click here for more information.
