Fresno High School's Senate Club recognized by county supervisors

FRESNO, Calif. -- Members of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors celebrated Fresno High School's Senate Club Tuesday morning.

Four members of the Senate Club, as well as their advisor, attended Tuesday's meeting where they were presented with a resolution. The club is now in its 125th year and is considered to be one of the longest continuously active clubs in the country.

Members tackle controversial topics and learn ways to debate respectfully. The team is made up of 36 members who all abide by a dress code and their own constitution. They also must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
