23-year-old woman shot in central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are investigating what led to a shooting in central Fresno that ended with the victim driving herself to the Tower District for help.

Police were called to Olive and Echo Avenues just after 7:30 pm Sunday.

There they found a 23-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say she was shot at a different location.

She was rushed hospital and is expected to recover.

Investigators are speaking with the victim and witnesses to figure out what led to the shooting.

There is no suspect description at this time.
