Customers have been asking about it since March.[br /][br /]The lines will be a little longer outside the Gibson Farm Market when it opens at 8 am on Memorial Day.[br /][br /]"Things will look a little different this year but we're still excited for everyone to come out and get their corn while still practicing social distancing," says student assistant Sydney Manning.[br /][br /]Two lines will form. One will be to buy pre-bagged corn outside of the store - 10 for $7. The other line will be for customers to go inside and buy other items as well.[br /][br /]The corn sells for 50 cents an ear, inside a little cheaper. You're asked not to shuck the corn at the bin.[br /][br /]"We've got a lot of things in place to keep people safe, from one person at each bin, hand sanitizer when they walk in and of course, everybody having masks on, which is required here in Fresno," says campus farm manager Mark Salwasser.[br /][Ads /][br /]Opening day of the sweet corn release draws hundreds of people to line up even before the store opens. This time people must allow spacing between each other.[br /][br /]Customers can easily go through over 50,000 ears of corn the first day it is sold.[br /][br /]"This is our Super Bowl. We get excited about having everybody come out. They see everything Fresno State and our hard-working ag students are doing,"] says farm market manager Jeremy Lewis.[br /][br /]RELATED: Meet some of the students who make Fresno State's famous sweet corn possible[br /][br /]The forecast calls for temperatures close to 100 degrees on Monday so bring water so you can cool off while you wait.[br /][br /]If you can wait, you won't be missing out on anything.
