6 people, including baby, shot and killed at Goshen home, deputies say
TULARE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Six people have died after a shooting in Goshen Monday morning.
Two of the victims are a teenage mother and a baby.
The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says it happened on Harvest Avenue between Road 68 and Kame Drive shortly after 3:30 a.m.
Callers initially thought it was an active shooter situation because of how many shots were fired.
When deputies arrived, they immediately noticed two victims dead in the street and then a third in the doorway of the home.
Deputies found six victims total. Five of them were declared dead at the scene. Another died at the hospital.
The grandfather and aunt of the teen who was killed say she was from Northern California and had been living with her father's side of the family in Goshen for the last year.
"I can't understand who can just kill a baby like that. I can't wrap my head around it. How can someone be a monster and do that? I cannot comprehend it," said the teen's grandfather.
Authorities believe there are at least two suspects at this time. They do not believe this was a random act and that there is a gang connection.
Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux says the shooting was "like a cartel-style execution."
"We believe this is very targeted. This is very personal and we also believe this is a message being sent," said Sheriff Boudreaux.
Just a week ago, a search warrant was done at this home for drugs.
