Suspect arrested after allegedly beating man into a coma in Armona
Police responded to an incident on Front Street near Railroad Avenue Saturday morning. When they got there, they found a man lying in the street bleeding from his head.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Kings County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested Armando Perez for attempted murder in Armona.



Police responded to an incident on Front Street near Railroad Avenue Saturday morning. When they got there, they found a man lying in the street bleeding from his head.



The victim was airlifted to CRMC where he is currently in critical condition and comatose. Deputies say they later found Perez near the scene hiding in a back yard.



He tried running away and later began fighting with deputies before a canine was brought in took him down. The deputies in the fight and Perez suffered minor injuries.



Investigators are still trying to determine a motive for the attack.
