Man hit and killed by train in Laton

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating after a person was hit by a train.

The incident happened around 11:45 near Fowler and Letson in Laton. Deputies are calling it a suspicious death because they don't know if the man was intentionally or accidentally on the tracks.

Deputies believe the victim was a man in his 30s. The train conductor says he saw the man, but couldn't stop in time. He is cooperating with deputies.
