Kid celebrate kite festival in Merced County

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Knights of Columbus 5th annual Time to Fly Kite Festival took flight Saturday in Livingston.

The event started off at Livingston Middle School with the landing of Merced County Sheriff's Huey helicopter and free kites to the first 500 kids.

This year's festivities included kite-making workshops, kite building contests and a pie eating contest.

Kids also got a chance to meet with the sheriff and other members of law enforcement like pilots, SWAT and dive operators.
