Clovis woman shares story of kindness after South Napa Earthquake

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Clovis woman is sharing a story of kindness in the aftermath of the South Napa Earthquake.

The intense shaking which tore up buildings and shattered parts of downtown Napa woke Marilyn Steebles up early Sunday morning.

"The trailer went sideways and sideways again and it wasn't slow like rocking, like bam, bam, bam really fast," said Steebles.

Steebles and her friends were visiting scenic wine country in a travel trailer on what was supposed to be a fun trip, but after the earthquake their wheels shredded driving over large cracks in the roads.

"There were power poles tilted by trees, there were lines hanging down I mean you could see the earth moved and it didn't go back," added Steebles.

Steebles called auto shops all over town and says everyone turned her down because they were dealing with their own damage.

That's until Kevin D'Adamo picked up. "My computer system wasn't up or anything," said D'Adamo.

D'Adamo owns B &G Tires. His building was yellow-tagged for structural damage so he was busy cleaning up his own mess. But he told Steebles to come in anyway.

"We paid for the one tire and we left and we got another flat, and we went back and he didn't even charge us," said Steebles.
