Members of Tulare family killed in Mississippi crash, 6-year-old son survives

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A South Valley grandmother is making her way to Mississippi to deal with an unimaginable tragedy. Three members of her family were killed in crash Wednesday along Interstate 10 in Jackson County.

Ricky Dale Hodson, Jr., Amber Thompson and 20-month-old Paisley Elaine Hodson all died when the car the family was riding in rear ended an 18-wheeler. The family lived in Tulare.

Another child, 6-year-old Ricky Hodson the 3rd, survived the crash and is recovering in a Mississippi hospital at this hour.

The Highway Patrol says everyone in the car was wearing their seatbelts.

Action News spoke with the boy's grandmother Thursday night. She says she's flying out Friday morning to bring her grandson back to the Valley.
