Suspect in custody after South Dos Palos SWAT situation

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Merced County Sheriff's Office says a suspect was taken into custody following a SWAT situation in South Dos Palos on Friday.

The incident started around 6 p.m. near L Street and Lexington Avenue. Officers responded to the area after a vehicle believed to be used during an armed robbery in Fresno County was located.

The suspect -- a 30-year-old Dos Palos man -- ended up barricading himself inside a home. Law enforcement officials believed he was armed. The man was eventually taken into custody around 10 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
