LOVELOCK, NV -- The Nevada Department of Corrections released a new mugshot of 68-year-old O.J. Simpson.
The image was taken at the Lovelock Correctional Center and released Monday, where Simpson is serving 33 years for armed robbery.
Simpson, 68, had not been pictured in a new mugshot since July 2013. An official said it's to ensure their records are periodically updated.
Two decades after Simpson was famously acquitted of murder, the former football star remains behind bars for a different crime. In 2007, the former NFL star was jailed for breaking into a Las Vegas hotel room at gunpoint with a group of men to steal sports memorabilia.
Simpson, one of the most famous running backs in football history, became infamous after he was charged with the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman. The trial was recently recreated in "American Crime Story: The People V O.J. Simpson."
Despite the trial concluding over two decades ago, a knife found at Simpson's home was recently tested for DNA connected to the 1994 murders. After testing, the LAPD announced it was not the murder weapon.
