1 hospitalized after shooting in west central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One person was sent to the hospital after a shooting in west central Fresno on Monday.

The shooting happened around 5:40 pm on Shields Avenue near Valentine Avenue.

Officers say the victim was involved in a fight with multiple people before he was shot.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Detectives are still working to track down the shooter - and anyone else involved in the fight.
