Driver arrested after deadly hit-and-run crash in Fresno County, CHP says

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A suspect has been arrested for a hit-and-run crash that killed his passenger in Fresno County on Wednesday night.

The crash happened in the area of Manning and Hansen avenues, east of Reedley.

The California Highway Patrol says 26-year-old Gerardo Lopez Perez's car left the roadway and rolled over after colliding with nearby orange trees.

The car's passenger was killed, and investigators say Lopez ran away.

The following day, officials say he turned himself at the Orange Cove Police Department.

He was arrested on felony-hit-and-run charges.
