Man stabbed in northwest Fresno, police say
Police are investigating a stabbing following a family disturbance in northwest Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A suspect is dead after a stabbing ended in a standoff in a northwest Fresno neighborhood on Monday morning.

The stabbing happened around 6 a.m. at a home on Weber near Herndon, which is right next to the Marketplace at El Paseo.

Fresno police say a man in his 60s was stabbed several times inside the home.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police say the suspect, a man in his 40s, refused to come out of the house, leading to an hours-long standoff with officers.

Around 4:30 p.m., investigators confirmed that the suspect was dead.

It's unclear if the suspect was hurt during the stabbing or if he died from self-inflicted wounds.

Officers are still working to figure out the relationship between the victim and the suspect.

Authorities have not yet released any other details.
