Person killed on a highway just south of Selma

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The California Highway Patrol is trying to learn how someone was killed on a highway just south of Selma.

A big rig hit the pedestrian just before midnight on State Highway 43 and Elkhorn.

It is not clear how the victim ended up on the highway, but we do know they were lying on the road.

Officers say the driver is cooperating and alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors.

The victim's name has not been released.
