FRESNO, Calif. -- Deshon Taylor hit four 3-pointers, went 12-for-14 at the line and scored 32 points, matching his career high, and added six assists as Fresno defeated Cal Poly 76-67 on Saturday. Taylor has scored a career-best 32 three times.
Braxton Huggins added 17 points and Nate Grimes 12 for Fresno State (5-2), which never trailed and led by as many as 14 early in the second half before Cal Poly launched a 12-6 run to get the gap down to 40-35.
The Bulldogs had the lead back into double digits on Huggins' 3-pointer with 8:39 remaining.
Mark Crowe scored seven of his career-high 22 points in the second half run, also finishing with four 3-pointers, two steals and a blocked shot. Nobody else for Cal Poly (2-5) scored more than eight points.
Fresno State blocked seven shots, made seven steals, forced 14 turnovers turning the miscues into 14 points. The Bulldogs also converted 23 of 29 free throws while Cal Poly was 9 of 11 at the line.
