Crews begin to tear down Super Bowl City in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO -- Super Bowl City in San Francisco closed at 3 p.m. Sunday, right before Super Bowl 50 started, and teardown started just five minutes later.

Don't think that your commute will be back to normal on Monday.

Driving by Super Bowl City on Monday morning, you can see exterior panels on several of the temporary buildings are down but the main structures are still standing.

It took crews about a week to build the fan village and the tear down process is expected to take almost as long.

The street closures, detours and no parking signs that have been around for the past few weeks are expected for most of the week.

Some San Franciscans are more than ready for the neighborhood to return to normal.

The Super Bowl Host Committee says the tear down will be finished by Friday morning's commute, so that's just one more reason to look forward to the weekend.
