Super Bowl brings business boost

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The bay area gridlock caused by Sunday's Super Bowl has actually been welcomed by many businesses. Fresno businesses were among those ready to cash in.

It doesn't seem possible the bay area can get more crowded but the build-up to Super Bowl 50 is drawing thousands of people to parties and pre-game events.

Drivers from Fresno's "A Touch of Class" will be among those moving fans wherever they need to go between Friday and Monday. Company president Deena Papagni said, "It's four days of service for our chauffeurs."

Papagni explained their 24 person party bus, 14 passenger van and three more limos will be in place for their corporate partners and other clients. At least five drivers will be in the bay area. Deena said, "We have hotels for them so they can work more and make more money. It's a great way to provide service for our clientele especially those people who choose to drink. We want to keep everybody as safe as possible on the road."

Super bowl visitors also need to eat. Dustin Stewart runs "Dusty Buns" bistros and food trucks in both Fresno and San Francisco. Stewart unveiled the "hot wing sando" for the big game. "Right here we have our fried chicken. We did a little bit of hot wing sauce like buffalo style and in those vegetables you get the carrot and celery."

It's been a hit so far with customers.

Dustin noticed San Francisco eateries have been trying to stand out this week with so many extra visitors milling around. He added, "Super Bowl City has grid-locked everything up there which is nice because I have some parking in front of that bistro."

Stewart planned to close both bistros on Sunday at 3pm so workers can enjoy the Super Bowl.

The bay area could see an estimated one million visitors during Super Bowl week.
