FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Roads are back open after a 'suspicious device' was found in west-central Fresno on Friday night.
Fresno police say the device was found on a sidewalk in the area of McKinley and Polk avenues just before 8:30 p.m.
The department's bomb squad responded and investigated.
Officials say residents were told about the device and given the option to stay or leave their homes.
The device was determined to be safe and the scene was cleared.
A section of McKinley was closed during the investigation but has since reopened.
