More than half the women using the popular hookup app Tinder are already in a relationship, according to the United Kingdom's Daily Mail.
A survey from GlobalWebIndex found that three out of ten people on the app are married. Men outnumber women on Tinder three to two. However, 40 percent of the women using the app are married compared to only 23 percent of male users.
Analysts say not all the married people on the site are cheaters. Some might be window shopping without any intention of actually meeting anyone in person, but it can be a slippery slope.
"People still have a sense that because it is an app it is a different version of you, and that you are just having a little bit of fun in cyber space," GlobalWebIndex's Jason Mander said. "It is clear that there is a segment of the audience using Tinder for purposes they shouldn't be."
Tinder says it has 40 million users.
