If you thought you were too old to live in a treehouse, think again. As eco-themed apartments are taking off worldwide, here's one building that anyone with a child's heart will fall in love with.
These "treehouse" apartments in Turin, Italy are composed of 63 units, about 150 trees and fulfill your childhood dreams of living inside a massive tree.
These luxury, adult-sized treehouse apartments are part of a building named 25 Verde. That translates to "25 Green," and the complex lives up to its name. Designed by architect Luciano Pia and photographed by Beppe Giardino, the five-story building houses 63 units that are all completely different from each other.
With gardens on both the ground and top floors, large rooms and terraces for everyone, each resident gets a unique experience while living within this massive treehouse.
According the the apartment's website, about 150 trees were integrated into 25 Verde's eco-friendly design, with 40 in the courtyard. The steel girders are even painted to blend in with the rest of the design, and collect rainwater to irrigate the plant life.
The realtors also claim that foliage throughout the building "create an ideal microclimate inside the building," reducing outside noise, producing oxygen, breaking down fine dust, absorbing air pollutants and even mitigating temperature extremes. Meaning, the apartments are cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
