Bicyclist hit and killed by truck near Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A bike rider has died after being hit by a truck near Fresno State Thursday morning.

It happened just before 7 am on Bullard Avenue between Cedar and Chestnut.

Police say the truck and rider were both headed east on Bullard when they collided.

The bike rider was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene.

Police say drugs and alcohol are not a factor in this crash.

Bullard Avenue between Chestnut and Cedar was closed for several hours for the investigation.
