ORCHARD, Texas -- Dennis Davis will tell you Rodeo Bulls aren't always mean... they just need their space.

Davis, a former Bull Rider, has trained Bucking Bulls for more than ten years. He starts working with them when they are yearlings, "We will put them in the bucking shoot and evaluate them to see if they want to be a bucking bull."

Not every bull has the instinct and/or the leaping ability. If they do, Davis continues to work with them. If they are good at bucking by age three, they will start to compete.

Davis said, "The biggest misconception is that we do something to harm them to get them to buck. They naturally kick or buck to get the rope off that is wrapped around them as well as what's on their back."

Davis is a one-man bull whisperer with some help from his son Chad. "Normally, I'm by myself because a lot of bulls and cows identify which way to go by watching one person. This facility is set up just like the venues we go to. The bulls know they're going to leave the pen and go up the alley to the bucking shoot. When he gets there, he's not as stirred up as he could be."

Davis is on the road 48 weekends a year, taking his clients' bulls to events to compete. He also trains, feeds, and shelters the animals. "They look to me to send them pictures and videos after events."

Anyone can own a Bull. His most famous client is UFC President and CEO Dana White.

"I do this show called Looking for a Fight. We ended up in Houston, where we talked about bull riding. I thought we would ride baby bulls, and it would be funny. We end up at Dennis' place with PBR Bulls. It was one of the craziest things I've ever done, but I loved it." White said.

White loves the bull riding business and his partnership with Davis. "Dennis is the best. He's great at what he does. I highly recommend him if you're looking to get into the bull business like I am."
