World Turtle Day at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Wednesday is World Turtle Day.

The Fresno Chaffee Zoo hosted a local celebration.

Visitors were able to meet several of the zoo's turtle ambassadors and learn all about these reptiles.

It's a special day created for an important cause.

Turtles and tortoises across the world are threatened by habitat loss, plastic in the ocean, and poaching.
