Object found in front of central Fresno Walmart was not a pipe bomb, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The object that was found in front of a Walmart in central Fresno has been determined not to be a pipe bomb.

Authorities were called out to the store on Blackstone and Ashlan around 7:30 am Monday.

An employee reported a suspicious object outside the front door of the building.

The EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) unit took over the investigation.

Police determined that the object was not a bomb and not hazardous.

The store was closed for nearly an hour and a half while police investigated.
